Ingredients
For the Meatballs:
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- ¼ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp milk
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)
For the Sauce (Optional):
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp salt & pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the meatballs: In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, milk, garlic, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and parsley. Combine until just mixed (don’t overwork).
2️⃣ Shape & set: Form into 1-inch meatballs and place on a plate.
3️⃣ Cook the meatballs: Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Cook meatballs in batches, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through (about 8-10 minutes).
4️⃣ Make the sauce (optional): In the same pan, heat olive oil, add garlic, and sauté for 1 minute. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
5️⃣ Combine & serve: Add meatballs to the sauce and let them soak for 5 minutes. Serve over pasta, rice, or enjoy as an appetizer! 🍝
