  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, divided
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme (or ½ tsp dried thyme)
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Sauté the Mushrooms: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tbsp of butter. Add mushrooms and onion; sauté for about 8-10 minutes until tender and golden brown.
  2. Add Garlic and Thyme: Stir in minced garlic and thyme during the last minute of cooking. Cook until fragrant.
  3. Blend the Mixture: Transfer the mushroom mixture to a food processor. Add cream cheese, lemon juice, remaining butter, salt, and pepper. Blend until smooth.
  4. Chill: Move the pâté to a bowl or serving dish, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  5. Serve: Spread on toasted baguette slices or crackers. Enjoy!
