- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix warm milk, yeast, and 1 tablespoon of sugar; let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, remaining sugar, and salt.
- Add the yeast mixture and melted butter to the dry ingredients; stir until combined.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place in an oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle about half an inch thick. Spread softened butter over it, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll tightly into a log shape and cut into twelve equal pieces.
- Transfer to greased baking sheets and let rise again while preheating the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
- For frosting, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth; spread over warm rolls.
