Ingredients
- 12 jumbo pasta shells
- 1 lb Italian sausage (mild or spicy)
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- Cook the jumbo pasta shells in salted boiling water until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the Italian sausage, breaking it apart until cooked through. Drain excess fat.
- In a bowl, mix the cooked sausage with ricotta, half of the mozzarella, Parmesan, parsley, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Stuff each shell with about two tablespoons of the filling and place them seam-side up in the baking dish.
- Spread marinara sauce evenly over the stuffed shells and sprinkle with remaining mozzarella. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; remove foil for the last 5 minutes until golden.
