Instructions

How to Make Instant Pot French Onion Pasta

  • Turn on your Instant Pot and select the sauté function. Melt butter and olive oil, then add sliced onions, salt, pepper, and sugar. Cook for 10-12 minutes until they are golden and caramelized, stirring occasionally.
  • Mix in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute. Pour in balsamic vinegar and toss in the thyme, letting the flavors meld for a minute.
  • Stir in your dry pasta, beef broth, and water. Seal the Instant Pot lid and cook on high pressure for 4 minutes. Quick release the pressure once finished.
  • Open the lid and stir in heavy cream, Gruyère cheese, and Parmesan cheese. Mix thoroughly until everything is melted and creamy. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
