Ingredients

For the Meatballs

  • 1 pound Ground Beef or ground turkey/chicken for lighter option
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs use gluten-free for a gluten-free option
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese omit for dairy-free
  • 1/4 cup Parsley or substitute with fresh basil or oregano
  • 1 large Egg for egg-free, consider flaxseed meal
  • 2 cloves Garlic or garlic powder for convenience
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Italian Seasoning or swap with Herbes de Provence

For Serving

  • 2 cups Marinara Sauce homemade or store-bought
  • 1 pound Pasta or subs for an easy meal

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, parsley, egg, garlic, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning in a large bowl until all ingredients are well combined.
  • Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and browned on the outside.
  • Heat the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat and stir in a bit of olive oil.
  • Serve the meatballs with the marinara sauce over pasta or in a sub.

Top with freshly grated Parmesan or chopped basil for added flavor. Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor and avoid overmixing.
